Is it free?

Yes. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to install. The site may show ads and some pages may include affiliate links, which is what keeps it free.

Why did my link come back with “no structured recipe data”?

Around nine in ten recipe sites publish machine-readable recipe data, and the generator also falls back to reading the visible page. A small minority of sites publish neither in a readable form. When that happens, switch to Paste text and drop the recipe in — paste mode works on anything and runs fully offline.

Where is my recipe box stored?

In your own browser’s local storage, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing your browser data will clear the box, so export or print cards you’d hate to lose.

How accurate is serving scaling?

Quantities scale exactly and are then rounded to practical kitchen fractions (halves, thirds, quarters, eighths), with metric weights rounded to sensible grams. Cooking times, temperatures, and pan sizes intentionally do not scale — doubling a cake means judgment about pans and bake time that arithmetic can’t make for you. See how scaling works.

Do timers keep running if I leave cook mode?

A running timer keeps counting while you move between steps. Leaving cook mode ends the session and its timer, and cook mode also asks your device to keep the screen awake while you cook.

Can I print on index cards?

Yes — Save PDF offers a 4×6 index card preset that fills the card edge to edge, plus a letter-size option. There’s also a plain print button and a JPEG export for sharing.

Why do some cards branch and others read straight across?

The card mirrors the recipe’s structure. A one-bowl recipe reads as a single chain. Recipes with a separate dry mix, a sauce made alongside, or layered assembly draw as branches that merge where the recipe combines them. Reading a card covers this in two minutes.

Does the site track me?

The generator itself needs no personal data and stores your recipe box only on your device. Advertising, if shown, is subject to the choices described in the privacy policy.
